Rachael is a Consultant member of the National Register of Access Consultants.
She has been an inclusive design consultant since 2005, advising design teams about achieving the best possible standards of access and inclusive design possible, specialising in historic buildings and places.
Rachael created Withernay Projects Limited in 2013 and has since provided consultancy services for many arts, heritage and cultural buildings.
For nine years previous to this she was a consultant at David Bonnett Associates with a particular focus on residential access standards and regulations.
Bringing empty buildings back into use was the subject of Rachael’s thesis project for her Postgraduate Diploma in Architecture (RIBA Part II), completed at London Metropolitan University in 2010.
